Yes, ButtonShift allows you to initiate a dedicated Group Chat for a standalone file, ensuring that project-specific discussions stay connected to the asset itself, and helps eliminate “Communication Silos”.

  1. Open the File: Navigate to the specific file you wish to discuss.
  2. Access Options: Click on the 3 vertical dots (⋮) icon located above the file viewer.
  3. Select ‘Group Chat’ option: A pop-up window will appear.
    • Default Settings: The system automatically uses the Filename as the Group Name and the Thumbnail as the group logo.
    • Customization: You can manually change the group logo at this stage if desired.
  4. Finalize: Click ‘Create’. The group is established instantly, and the chat window will open for immediate use.

Managing the Group Members

  • Default Logic: Upon creation, only members who have been assigned Roles in the file are added to the chat by default. Viewers and Admins are optional and can be included based on your requirements.
  • The Manual Sync Feature: As your team grows or project assignments change, the group does not update automatically. To add new team members or update the participant list, use the manual sync feature within the chat settings after the group has been created.
