If your workspace is reaching its storage limit or you need to clear “Dead Inventory” to make room for newer work, ButtonShift provides an in-built Storage Management Tool.

How to Free Up Space

  1. Locate the Tool: On the right-hand panel of your workspace, find the Broom (Free Up Storage) Icon located directly below your “Current Storage” details.
  2. Open the Recovery Dashboard: Click the icon to open a window titled “Recover X.YZ% of Storage.”
  3. Select Content for Deletion: Choose from the following seven categories:
    • Approved Boards: Projects marked as final.
    • Approved Files (Standalone): Finalized assets not linked to a board.
    • Chat: Media and history from Groups and DMs.
    • Tasks: Attachments in Tasks, listed by Plans in Workslists.
    • Feedback: Attachments in Feedback and Comments on Files, be it standalone or within Boards.
    • All Boards: Boards in any status.
    • All Standalone Files: All files residing outside of boards.
  4. Confirm: Review your selection, click on Delete and confirm deletion by clicking ‘Yes.’ The storage is recovered instantly.

Deletion via the “Free Up Storage” tool is permanent. Ensure critical “Source of Truth” assets are moved to your external archive (e.g., G-Drive) before clearing.
