Group Chats in ButtonShift allow for instant, dedicated communication tied directly to your collaborative projects. You can easily create a group chat for any Space, Collection, Board, or Worklist.


Step-by-Step Guide to Creating a Group Chat

Follow these steps from within the specific project entity you want to associate the chat with:

  1. Navigate to the Entity: Open the Space, Collection, Board, or Worklist for which you want to create a group chat.
  2. Locate the Chat Icon: Click on the dedicated Group Chat icon.
  3. Review Default Details: A creation window will appear. A default name for the chat will automatically populate, which is the name of the entity you are in.
  4. Customize (Optional): You have the option to modify the settings before creation:
    • Group Name: Cannot be changed, but changes when the Entity name changes..
    • Update Avatar: Mostly auto created using content thumbnails, this image can be changed to give the group a visual identity.
    • Add a Description: Provide a brief description to give members context about the chat’s purpose.
  5. Finalize Creation: Once you are satisfied with the settings, click Create.

The new group chat will be instantly created, and all members associated with that Space, Collection, Board, or Worklist will gain access to the discussion.
