Providing clear, contextual feedback is essential for a smooth workflow and progressing towards a satisfactory final deliverable. ButtonShift’s integrated feedback tool allows you to give precise feedback on Videos, Images, PDFs, and Audio files.
While the specific features may vary slightly by file type, here are the generic steps for providing feedback on any file:
Adding Generic Feedback
- Open the file: Click on the file to open it in the full-screen view. On the right-hand side of the window, you will see the Feedback Panel.
- Click in the feedback box: Locate the text box at the top of the feedback panel. Click on it to begin typing your feedback.
- Type your feedback: Write out your comments, questions, or suggestions.
- Click Save: Once you’ve finished, click “Save” to post your feedback.
Advanced Feedback Features
The feedback tool includes several powerful features to enhance your communication:
- Annotation: To pinpoint a specific area of a file, you can add an annotation. This feature allows you to visually highlight a section of the file, directly linking your feedback to a particular detail.
- Tag Team Members: To bring a team member into the conversation, simply type the @ symbol followed by their username. This will notify them about your feedback.
- Attach Reference Files: You can also attach reference files to your feedback. This is useful for providing examples, additional context, or supporting documents.
- Add a Voice Note: For lengthy feedback or comments that require better articulation, you have the option to record a voice note. This saves you time and ensures your message is conveyed clearly.
Finalizing Your Feedback
Once you have added all your comments, the final step is to submit your feedback for review. To send the file back to the creator for action, locate and click the Revise File button at the bottom of the Feedback Panel. This action moves the file, along with all your feedback, to the creator’s bucket so they can begin working on the requested revisions.
Feedback on Specific Points
When a specific piece of feedback is provided, a team member can reply directly to it. This allows you to keep point-related discussions and conversations confined to a single thread, preventing confusion and keeping communication organized.
Note: The feedback tool for each file type comes with custom features (e.g., area selection on images, time-stamped comments on videos). Please refer to these articles for file-type-specific instructions:
