Yes, setting a deadline for a file or a board while sending it for review is an optional service available in ButtonShift.

Setting a Deadline for a File

Setting a review deadline for an individual file is a straightforward process:

  1. Open the File: Open the file you are ready to send for review.
  2. Initiate Submission: Click on ‘Submit File’ at the bottom right of the file viewer.
  3. Assign Approver: A pop-up will open. Select the approver from your list or type in their email ID and select their user details.
  4. Set Deadline: Select the ‘Select Date’ option. A calendar view opens where you can select the specific date and time for the review to be completed.
  5. Send: Click Send to submit the file with the established deadline.

Setting a Deadline for a Board

A Board offers multiple touchpoints for deadline management. This ensures that the timeline remains accurate as the project evolves through its three main stages:

1. At Board Creation The first opportunity to set a deadline is during the initial creation of the Board. This establishes the Board’s overall lifecycle and helps the team align on the final project goal from day one.

2. During Content Upload (Pre-Submission) Once content is uploaded and the Board is being prepared, you can view the current deadline located directly below the ‘Submit Board’ button. If the project scope has shifted, you can click on this deadline to make immediate edits before proceeding.

3. At the ‘Submit Board’ Step When you are ready to send the Board for review, a final confirmation screen appears. Here, you can review the previously set deadline and opt to change it one last time to match the specific urgency required for the approver.

The Submission Process: Click on the ‘Submit Board’ button located below the board name, a pop-up opens up wherein you assign an Approver, set the board deadline by clicking on ‘Select Date’, and click Send to submit the Board for review.

Files and Boards with deadlines will show up in the Action Center, ensuring the assigned Creator/Approver knows the exact time frame for completing their work, keeping your projects on schedule.
